Stations
A station is one screen in the kitchen, tied to a prep area. A typical set-up is Grill, Fry, Cold and a Pass. Every accepted order is split into one ticket per station, so each screen shows only what that area cooks.
Go to Kitchen → Stations and add one station for each screen you will put in the kitchen. A small kitchen can run with a single station; a larger one usually has one station per prep area and one for the pass. Each station has:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | Shown at the top of that screen and on the expo's progress chips, so keep it short: Grill, Fry, Pass. |
| Type | Prep stations cook items. The Expo station sees whole orders, checks every prep station has finished, and is the one that marks the order ready. Create at most one expo station. |
| Default station | Items that match no routing rule go here. The first prep station you create becomes the default automatically; you can move it later. An expo station cannot be the default. |
| Target prep time | How many minutes an order at this station should take. It drives the ticket colours and the timing of pre-orders. |
| Warning at / Late at | Percentages of the target. With an 8-minute target and the defaults of 75% and 100%, a ticket turns amber at 6 minutes and red at 8. |
| Status | Paused takes a station out of routing: new items that would have gone there go to the default station instead, and the expo shows the station as paused. Open tickets stay where they are. |
| Sort order | The order stations are listed in the station picker on the board. |
Types of station#
| Type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Prep | Cooks items. Cooks bump each item as it is plated; when the last item is bumped the ticket is finished. |
| Expo | The pass. Sees whole orders with each prep station's progress, and its bump is what marks the order ready for pick-up. Create at most one. |
A kitchen with a single prep station and no expo works too: when that station finishes an order, the order is marked ready.
