Printers and Receipts
Receipts print from the terminal's built-in printer, from network printers in the kitchen, or both. Printers are set up per till under Settings, and the same screen controls how the receipt looks.
Adding a printer#
- Open Settings and go to the printer section.
- Choose the brand — Senraise (built-in), Sunmi, Epson, or Other printer for a generic ESC/POS model.
- Choose how it is connected: LAN Search to find it on the network, Bluetooth for a paired printer, Manual IP to type an address and port, or Serial for the built-in printer (usually
/dev/ttyS1). - Give it a Printer Name — Kitchen Printer, say — and tap Add.
Added printers are listed with their address and paper size. Test print checks one, Copies sets how many tickets it prints, and Remove printer takes it off this till.
Cloud kitchen printers#
Network printers appear under Cloud Kitchen Printers. They are how an order reaches a kitchen display or a second station: each one has its own paper size and copy count, so the kitchen can print two tickets while the counter prints one.
How the receipt looks#
- Receipt Printing — how many copies print for each order.
- Receipt Font Sizes — Small for extra details and dividers, Medium for customer and payment details, Big for order items and totals. Reset restores the defaults.
- Item Receipt Languages — where the company works in more than one language, which languages item names print in, and in what order. The setting is hidden for a company with only one.
Troubleshooting#
No cloud printers configured
None has been added on this till. Add one to send orders to the kitchen.
Search failed
The network search found nothing. Check the printer is on the same network, then add it by Manual IP.
Test print to "Kitchen" failed
The printer was not reachable. Check power, paper and the address.
"Kitchen" is already added
A printer with that address exists; the existing entry was updated instead of a duplicate being made.
Location permission is required to search for Sunmi Bluetooth printers
Grant Location, or connect that printer over LAN.
Receipt print error
Printing failed after the sale. The order is complete; reprint from Transactions once the printer is working.
