🏪 Location View

Delivery Zones

Delivery Zones define where your location delivers to, and what minimum order amounts and delivery fees apply in each area. This is a Location View feature — every zone you see and create belongs to the location currently selected at the top of the screen.

What are Delivery Zones?#

A delivery zone is an area your location is willing to deliver to, together with the pricing rules for that area:

  • a minimum order amount for delivery,
  • a delivery fee,
  • optionally a free-delivery threshold (order totals above it get free delivery), and
  • a surcharge that applies when the order stays under the minimum delivery amount.

Each zone can be switched on or off with its Is Active? setting, so you can pause delivery to an area without deleting its pricing. How a zone's area is described depends on your company's Delivery Zone Type, which is configured once at company level and applies to all locations. The Delivery Zones page automatically shows the fields that match your company's type:

Zone typeHow the area is defined
ZIP CODEA city plus one full postcode/zipcode per zone.
ZIP CODE 2A city plus a two-part postcode: the first part is required, the second part is optional (leave it empty to cover the whole first-part area — useful for UK-style postcodes such as SW1 + 2AB).
CITY AREAA city plus a named area/district within it.
RADIUS MILESA circle around your location, with the radius given in miles.
RADIUS KILOMETRESA circle around your location, with the radius given in kilometres.
CITY POLYGONA free-form shape you draw on a map of your area. Instead of a table, the page shows an interactive map.

Where to find Delivery Zones#

  • View: Location View (select the location first)
  • Menu: Operations → Delivery Zones

If a button described in this chapter is missing for you, your account doesn't have permission for that action — ask your administrator.

The list#

For every zone type except CITY POLYGON, the page shows a table of the selected location's zones (all zones are listed, active and inactive). The columns are:

ColumnMeaning
Min. DeliveryMinimum order amount for delivery in this zone, in the location's currency.
Min. Free DeliveryOrder amount from which delivery is free (0 if no free-delivery threshold is set).
Delivery Fee if less than Min. Delivery AmountThe fee applied when the order total is below the minimum delivery amount.
Delivery FeeThe standard delivery fee for this zone.
Zone area columnsDepend on your zone type: ZipCode (ZIP CODE); First part and Second part (ZIP CODE 2); City and Area (CITY AREA); Radius with its unit (radius types).
Is Active?A checkbox showing whether the zone is currently in use.

The last column holds the row actions: an Edit button and a Delete button (each shown only with the matching permission). On small screens the same information is shown as cards instead of a table.

The map (CITY POLYGON companies only)#

If your company uses the CITY POLYGON type, the page shows a map instead of a table. The map is centred on your location (shown with a shop marker) and displays every saved zone as a shaded shape. Each zone also has a marker in its middle — click it to open a small window with the zone's Name, its amounts (Min. Delivery, Min. Free Delivery, Delivery Fee if less than Min. Delivery Amount, Delivery Fee), its Is Active? state, and Edit / Delete buttons.

Adding a delivery zone#

Table-based zone types#

  1. Make sure the correct location is selected, then open Operations → Delivery Zones.
  2. Click "ADD DELIVERY ZONE" in the top-right corner. The "Add Delivery Zone" window opens.
  3. Fill in the amounts and the area fields for your zone type (see the field reference below).
  4. Click "SAVE". On success the message "Delivery zone saved successfully" appears.
  5. Click "CLOSE" to dismiss the window, or adjust and save again.

CITY POLYGON zone types#

  1. Click "ADD DELIVERY ZONE". A side panel titled "Add Delivery Zone" opens next to the map, and the map cursor changes to a crosshair.
  1. Click on the map to place the corners of your delivery area. Each click adds a corner; the shape closes itself automatically and stays editable while the panel is open.
  2. In the panel, enter the zone's Name and its amounts, and set Is Active?.
  3. Click "SAVE". On success the message "Delivery zone saved successfully" appears in the panel. If you try to save without drawing a shape, the message "Please point the Coordinates on the map" is shown.

Updating a delivery zone#

  1. In the table, click the row's Edit button. (On the map, click the zone's marker, then Edit in the pop-up window — the zone's shape becomes editable so you can drag its corners.)
  2. The "Edit Delivery Zone" window opens with the current values filled in.
  3. Change the values and click "SAVE". The message "Delivery zone saved successfully" confirms the change.

Deleting a delivery zone#

  1. Click the row's Delete button (or the Delete button in a map zone's pop-up window).
  2. A confirmation appears: "Are you sure want to delete this delivery zone?"
  3. Click "Yes! Delete" to remove the zone, or "No" to keep it.

Field reference#

Min. Delivery Amount (required, currency amount)#

The minimum order total for delivery orders in this zone. If left empty, saving fails with "Min. Delivery is a required value".

Is there a free delivery amount? (Yes / No)#

Choose "Yes" if delivery should become free above a certain order total. Choosing "No" hides the threshold field and stores the threshold as 0 (no free delivery).

Min. Free Delivery Amount (shown only when the answer above is Yes)#

The order total from which delivery is free in this zone. The amount field appears directly under the Yes/No choice.

Delivery Fee if less than Min. Delivery (optional, defaults to 0)#

The fee applied when the order total is below the zone's minimum delivery amount. Leave it empty to store 0.

Delivery Fee (required, currency amount)#

The standard delivery fee for this zone. If left empty, saving fails with "Delivery fee is a required value".

City (required — ZIP CODE, ZIP CODE 2 and CITY AREA types)#

The city the zone belongs to, chosen from a list. Required message: "City is a required value". The postcode and area choices depend on the selected city.

Zipcode (required — ZIP CODE type)#

The postcode/zipcode this zone covers, chosen from the codes available for the selected city. Required message: "Zipcode is a required value".

Zipcode First Part (required — ZIP CODE 2 type)#

The first part of the postcode (the outward code). Required message: "Zipcode First Part is a required value".

Zipcode Second Part (optional — ZIP CODE 2 type)#

The second part of the postcode (the inward code), narrowed to the selected first part. Leave it empty to cover every address in the first-part area.

Area (required — CITY AREA type)#

The named area within the selected city, chosen from a list. Required message: "Area is a required value".

Radius (required — RADIUS MILES and RADIUS KILOMETRES types)#

How far from your location the zone reaches. The unit (miles or kilometres) is fixed by your company's zone type and shown next to the number. Required message: "Radius is a required value".

Name (required — CITY POLYGON type)#

A name for the drawn zone (for example a neighbourhood name). It is shown on the map's zone pop-up. Required message: "Name is a required value".

Is Active? (toggle)#

Switch the zone on or off. New zones start as active.

Common tasks#

  • Charge more for far-away areas: create several zones (for example increasing radiuses, or different postcodes) and give the outer ones a higher Delivery Fee and Min. Delivery Amount.
  • Offer free delivery over a spend threshold: edit the zone, answer "Yes" to "Is there a free delivery amount?" and enter the threshold amount.
  • Pause delivery to one area: edit the zone and turn Is Active? off; turn it back on later.
  • Reshape a drawn zone (CITY POLYGON): click the zone's marker, click Edit, drag the shape's corner points, then click "SAVE".

Troubleshooting#

The form asks for different fields than you expected

(for example a radius instead of postcodes): the fields follow your company's Delivery Zone Type, which is a company-level setting. Contact your administrator if it needs changing.

The map is empty or centred in the wrong place

(CITY POLYGON): the map centres on the selected location's saved coordinates. Check that the right location is selected and that its address/coordinates are set correctly.

No "ADD DELIVERY ZONE" button, or no Edit/Delete buttons:

Your account doesn't have permission for these actions — ask your administrator.

Customers in a zone still cannot order delivery:

Check the zone's Is Active? checkbox in the list, and make sure the customer's order meets the zone's Min. Delivery amount. Also check that a Delivery service exists and is active for the location, and that delivery Opening Times cover the current time.
