🏪 Location View

Opening Times

Opening Times define when your location accepts orders, as a weekly schedule of time slots kept separately for each order type, plus one-off "Specific Date" schedules for holidays and special days. This is a Location View feature — the schedule you see and edit belongs to the location currently selected at the top of the screen.

What are Opening Times?#

Each location has its own opening schedule per order type (Delivery, Pickup, and so on). A day can contain any number of time slots — for example 11:30 - 14:30 and 17:00 - 22:00 for a lunch and dinner service — and a day with no slots is closed for that order type. On top of the weekly pattern you can add Specific Date cards that hold the hours for a single calendar date, with an optional message (for example holiday hours).

Where to find Opening Times#

  • View: Location View (select the location first)
  • Menu: Operations → Opening Times

Access depends on your user permissions — if a button described in this chapter is missing for you, ask your administrator.

The page#

At the top of the page an order type selector controls which schedule you are looking at. It starts on Delivery; the available choices are Delivery, Pickup, Catering, Curb-side and Eat-in. Each order type has its own independent schedule — changing Delivery hours does not touch Pickup hours. Below the selector the schedule is shown as cards rather than a table:

  • Day cards — one card per day of the week, ordered Monday to Saturday with Sunday last. Each card lists that day's time slots in 24-hour format (for example 17:00 - 22:00). Every slot row has an Edit and a Delete button, and each card has a plus button in its header to add a slot to that day.
  • Specific date cards — a second section under the day cards. It always contains a card titled "Specific Date" whose plus button creates a new date, plus one card per saved date. A date card is titled with its date, shows an information icon with the date's message when one was entered, and has its own delete, add, edit and per- slot delete buttons.

Managing weekly time slots#

Adding a time slot#

  1. Pick the order type you want to change in the selector.
  1. On the card for the day in question, click the plus button ("Add Opening Time Slot"). The "Add Opening Time Slot" window opens.
  2. Under "Opening Hours", pick the start and end time (24-hour clock, HH:mm).
  3. Click "SAVE". On success the message "Opening Time Slot saved successfully" appears. If a start or end time is missing, the error "Please select a time range" is shown instead.
  4. Click "CLOSE" to dismiss the window.

Updating a time slot#

  1. Click the Edit button next to the slot on its day card.
  2. The "Edit Opening Time Slot" window opens with the current times filled in.
  3. Adjust the "Opening Hours" range and click "SAVE". The message "Opening Time Slot saved successfully" confirms the change.

Deleting a time slot#

  1. Click the Delete button next to the slot.
  2. A confirmation appears: "Are you sure want to delete this time slot?"
  3. Click "Yes! Delete" to remove it, or "No" to keep it.

Managing specific dates#

Specific dates let you set the hours for a single calendar date — typically holidays — without touching the weekly pattern.

Adding a specific date#

  1. In the specific-dates section, click the plus button on the "Specific Date" card ("Add Specific Date"). The "Add Specific Date" window opens.
  2. Pick the Date, set the first time slot under "Opening Hours", and optionally enter a Message (for example "Holiday hours").
  3. Click "SAVE". On success the message "Specific Date saved successfully" appears, and a new card for that date is added.

Adding, editing and deleting a date's slots#

  • Add another slot: click the plus button on the date's card and pick the extra "Opening Hours" range.
  • Edit a slot: click the slot's Edit button; the window is titled "Edit Time Slot".
  • Delete a slot: click the slot's Delete button and confirm "Are you sure want to delete this time slot?" with "Yes! Delete". Deleting the last remaining slot removes the whole date card.

Deleting a whole specific date#

  1. Click the Delete button in the date card's header.
  2. A confirmation appears: "Are you sure you want to delete this specific date and all its time slots?"
  3. Click "Yes! Delete" to remove the date and all its slots.

Field reference#

Opening Hours (required, 24-hour times HH:mm)#

The start and end time of a slot, picked as a range. Both times must be set; otherwise the error "Please select a time range" is shown and nothing is saved.

Date (required — new specific dates only)#

The calendar date the specific-date card applies to. If left empty, saving fails with "Please select a date".

Message (optional — new specific dates only)#

A free-text note for the date (placeholder: "Optional message for this date (e.g., Holiday hours)"). It is shown in the admin behind the information icon on the date's card.

How opening times affect ordering#

  • Opening times control when customers can place orders of each type at this location; outside all slots for an order type, that order type is closed.
  • Order acceptance around closing is refined per service on the Services page (Operations → Services): each service has a "Minutes before closing time" setting, so ordering can stop a set number of minutes before the slot's end time, and options such as "Enable Current Day Pre-Orders" and "Enable Current Day Pre- Orders during Closing Hours" control whether customers may pre-order for later while you are closed.
  • Because each order type has its own schedule, remember to maintain the hours for every order type your location offers.

Common tasks#

  • Split lunch and dinner service: add two slots to the same day card, for example 11:30 - 14:30 and 17:00 - 22:00.
  • Different hours for Delivery and Pickup: set the slots once with Delivery selected, then switch the selector to Pickup and set that schedule separately.
  • Shorter hours on a public holiday: add a Specific Date for that day with the reduced hours and a Message such as "Holiday hours".
  • Close one weekday entirely: delete every slot on that day's card (repeat for each order type).

Troubleshooting#

Your change seems to have no effect:

Check the order type selector — you may have edited the schedule of a different order type than the one your customers are using.

No plus/Edit/Delete buttons:

Your account doesn't have permission for this — ask your administrator.

The save is rejected:

The most common cause is an incomplete time range — both a start and an end time must be picked, otherwise "Please select a time range" is shown.

Customers can still not order right at closing time:

The service's "Minutes before closing time" setting on the Services page may stop orders a few minutes before the end of the slot.

  • A specific date disappeared: deleting the last time slot of a date removes the whole date card — re-add it via "Add Specific Date" if needed.
